Futurama

Futurama depicts the story of Fry, a former pizza deliverance boy, who is cryogenically frozen at the begin of the year 2000 and thawed out in 2999. Being a pizza deliverance boy, Fry already has a heap of experience in carrying out courier work and this equips him for his next occupation as a cargo deliverance boy for Planet Express, a company owned by his only living relative, Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth.

The self-proclaimed intergalactic courier company was started by the Professor in order to fund his research. Although the company scrapes by it is always in fierce contest with Moms Friendly Delivery Company, a cornerstone of MomCorp, which altho appears to be owned by a sweet, frail old lady is in actual fact owned by a manipulative director, who will stop at no means to make her company succeed. So remorseless are her business systems that it’s a wonder that the friendly courier laborers at Planet Express manage to survive at all, but this they do thanks to their finish disregard for health and safety laws and the minimum wage; the Professor has even be known to receive the occasional bribe. With a company slogan that reads ‘Our crew is expendable, your package isn’t’ you can’t support but feel that the crew of Planet Express would be better off working self-employed courier jobs.

The Professor may be the bane of the courier worker’s lives, yet in spite of galore changes of proprietor all around the series, the business always manages to fall back into his competent hands. Cubert and Dwight inherited the courier work business from the Professor for the duration of one fateful episode in which he was declared dead. During their management the company was renamed ‘Awesome Express’ and grew to be more even more profitable than Planet Express, until it emerged that the two boys were not carrying out any deliveries for the duration of their courier work, but rather depositing all the parcels on a crater on the moon.

Although Planet Express carries out courier work in each corner of the galaxy, the headquarters are based in New York City on the corner of West 57th Street and Henry Hudson Parkway. The building is one of Planet Express’s only three assets, which also include the widely known and esteemed green deliverance ship and a servant robot, known merely as 1-X.

The Planet Express headquarters are built upon a green limestone cavern and integrate five distinguished floors, with rooms consisting of the Professor’s laboratory, the main hangar, a kitchen, living room and even a room entitled ‘The Accusing Parlour’, which in applied in one episode to solve a murder; not rather the typical courier office that you are most likely accustomed to then!

But whilst Futurama may provide viewers with an agreeably diverting look at work in a courier company it also raises a lot of questions with regards to courier work in the future. After all how long may it be until we swap our trusted white vans for pea-green spaceships and get started taking up self-employed courier jobs on the planet Zorg?

5Futurama Season 5 Does Not Disappoint!
By BirdOPrey5
Season 5 is a very good season overall. The basi couple sequences are great. All your favorites are back, and not just the main characters… Kif, Zapp Brannigan, Earth President Nixon (head), Elzar, etc… Besides the funny sequences we’ve come to suppose Season 5 also gives us a couple of aroused roller-coasters too- while not quiet as sad as the fate given to Fry’s dog in earlier seasons (later fixed in the primary movie-Futurama – Bender’s Big Score) you might shed a tear on the episode regarding Bender’s birth or the Time Travel episode where Fry gets stuck in the future (again.. I guess.) Without giving away too much if for a heap of reason you couldn’t see this season when it aired on Comedy Central you will NOT be disappointed by this release. ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

I waited and waited and waited and was in the long run rewarded when the last season came out. The originative strength behind the series is still fresh, and the animation is stellar (no pun intended). The 2 best episodes: “The Late Phillip J Fry” and “A Clockwork Origin”, both had complex plot lines and a good deal of of the most intricate scenes as far as the actual layout and art. Looking forward to numerous more seasons!

5Amazing Re-Birth
By DaliDrama
I am so thankful Futurama came back in awful quality. Season 3-4 were starting to lessen and the movies were a big disappointment. This new season was a jaw-dropper…it was very, very, very good! A total shock and pleasant surprise to say the least. I am an avid, crazed fan again.
