Harry Potter

For those of you who haven’t read the books in the series or can’t do not forget the details, here is the plot for the upcoming film. In Part 2, the three main protagonists Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley will proceed their search for the horcruxes. They are doing this by themselves because they do not want the main antagonist Lord Voldemort to find out. They will look for the 4th horcrux in Gringotts Bank and the 5th horcrux in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The 6th horcrux will be the most unmanageable to ruin as Voldemort has this by his side. Aside from the suspenseful search for the horcruxes, there will likewise be a war in Hogwarts so this film will be action-packed. There will likewise be a big revelation at the end so be sure to watch this film!

What is a HORCRUX and why is it important?

A horcrux is any living or non-living thing that a dark wizard (in this case, Voldemort) uses to put a part of his soul in. If the horcrux is destroyed, the soul is also destroyed. Hence, a horcrux is normally protected by enchantments or curses. It may only be destroyed by a number of things like venom of a basilisk or fiendfyre.

In HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE, it was revealed that Voldemort, when he was a student, asked Professor Slughorn with regards to horcruxes and in that conversation, he noted that 7 was a number that has magical properties. This led Headmaster Albus Dumbledore to believe that Voldemort made 6 horcruxes to hide parts of his soul and that the 7th share of his soul is the one that resides in his own body.

In HARRY POTTER AND THE SORCERER’S STONE, it was revealed that when Voldemort applied the Avada Kedavra curse to kill baby Harry, the curse rebounded on Voldemort and left a lightning scar on Harry’s forehead. When the curse rebounded on Voldemort, his body was destroyed but not his soul because of the horcruxes. As long as Voldemort has horcruxes where he has concealed parts of his soul, he may never be killed. This is the reason why Harry, Hermione and Ron are searching for these horcruxes. They need to ruin all the horcruxes for Voldemort to be killed.

The film HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS Part 2 will be shown in theaters on July 15, 2011.

Harry Potter 2

In one of the most hotly envisioned sequels in memory, J.K. Rowling takes up where she left with Harry’s second year at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Old friends and new torments abound, including a spirit named Moaning Myrtle who haunts the girl’s bathroom, an outrageously conceited professor, Gilderoy Lockheart, and a mysterious strength that turns Hogwarts students to stone.

ReviewIt’s hard to fall in love with an earnest, likeable young hero like Harry Potter and then to watch helplessly as he steps into terrible danger! And in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, the much anticipated sequel to the award-winning Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, he is in terrible peril indeed. As if it’s not bad sufficient that after a long summer with the horrid Dursleys he is thwarted in his attempts to hop the train to the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to get started his second year. But when his only transportation option is a magical flying car, it is just his luck to crash into a priceless (but without doubt or question vexed) Whomping Willow. Still, all this seems like a day in the park equated to what happens that fall within the haunted halls of Hogwarts.

Chilling, malevolent voices whisper from the walls only to Harry, and it seems sure that his classmate Draco Malfoy is out to get him. Soon it’s not just Harry who is worried regarding survival, as frightening things commence to occur at Hogwarts. The mysteriously gleaming, foot-high words on the wall proclaim, “The Chamber of Secrets Has Been Opened. Enemies of the Heir, Beware.” But what incisively does it mean? Harry, Hermione, and Ron do everything that is wizardly possible–including risking their own lives–to solve this 50-year-old, seemingly deadly mystery. This deliciously suspenseful novel is each bit as gripping, imaginative, and creepy as the first; intimate student concerns–fierce rivalry, blush-inducing crushes, pedantic professors–seamlessly intertwine with the bizarre, horrific, fantastical, or just plain funny. Once again, Rowling writes with a combining of wit, whimsy, and a touch of the macabre that will leave readers young and old desperate for the next installment. (Ages 9 and older) –Karin Snelson

From School Library JournalGrade 3-8-Fans of the phenomenally general Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (Scholastic, 1998) won’t be disappointed when they rejoin Harry, now on break after finishing his firstborn year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Reluctantly spending the summer with the Dursleys, his mean relatives who fear and detest magic, Harry is soon whisked away by his friends Ron, Fred, and George Weasley, who appear at his window in a flying Ford Anglia to take him away to receive pleasure from the rest of the holidays with their very wizardly family. Things don’t go as well, though, when the school term begins. Someone, or something, is (literally) petrifying Hogwarts’ residents one by one and leaving threatening messages referring to a Chamber of Secrets and an heir of Slytherin. Somehow, Harry is often around when the attacks occur and he is soon suspected of being the perpetrator. The climax has Harry looking very much like Indiana Jones, battling a giant serpent in the depths of the awful and terrible Chamber of Secrets. Along with most of the teachers and students introduced in the former book, Draco Malfoy has returned for his second year and is more unworthy than ever. The novel is marked allround by the same sly and sophisticated humor found in the primary book, along with inventive, new, matter-of-fact uses of magic that will once again have readers longing to emulate Harry and his wizard friends.

5Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets

In Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry, a twelve year old boy is continuing another arousing and attention holding year at Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. This second book in the J.K. Rowling series is a will have to read! Not only do the main characters Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger set out to solve a new problem but, they realize that an individual has opened the Chamber of Secrets. Through trial and error our heroes search for clues to save one of their friends. Again Harry must put his life in peril to save others who are crucial to him. J.K. Rowling has introduced us to a heap of new characters in book two. We meet a magical elf, Dobby, a new professor, Gilderoy Lockheart and at long last Ginny Weasley, Ron’s younger sister who joins the famous trio. I liked this book because it was a unfeigned page turner. As the reader you may search for possible clues along with Harry, Ron and Hermione. I would commend this book to any individual over seven years old. J.K. Rowling did an splendid occupation on this book because it’s stimulating and full of adventure. I have learned from this book that life is full of tough challenges and problems. No matter how hard it is you have to be brave and trust in yourself to do the right thing.

5Definitely worth buying
By CPN
After reading the initial of the recent hits and chart-topping Harry Potter series, I just had to read the second. It once again begins over summer vacation and takes Harry to his second year at Hogwarts, the best wizarding school of the day. But for numerous reason, persons get started to be attacked by an individual – or something. Harry, Ron, and Hermione get started on another slew of detective work to find out what’s going on, and how to save the students of Hogwarts…it’s hard to give a plot summary without exposing the mysteries of the ending, which, by the way, was a total surprise!

This book is genuinely engrossing, more intense and dreadful than the first. I loved it! It was both fun and funny, much like the other two in the series. It is interesting to read, and I frankly think it appeals to all ages. Even older readers will get enjoyment from being taken back to the days when the line among fantasy and reality was blurred, and all the books would keep any innovative teenager enthralled. Harry Potter No. 2 genuinely held me laughing throughout. At numerous points in the middle, the story may get more or less bland, but don’t worry: the best share is yet to come. I love children’s stories, have read many, and these are the best, most innovative works out there. There’s a reason they are so hot right now, and all these other 5-star reviews are deserved! This series breaks the ordinary mold of children’s books which are not always written with the same flair J.K. Rowling with great success incorporates into the plot, and they each possess their own sense of magic, not permitting the reader to put the book down! The Harry Potter books are highly recommended! Other children’s writers I receive pleasure from are Roald Dahl, Louis Sachar, Mark Twain, C.S. Lewis, and E.B. White.

4Solid second novel, as good as the first.
By Mike London
Rowling wastes no time further manufacturing the world she introduced firstborn in PHILOSOPHER’S STONE. While the primary book got us acclimated to her magical world, it is here, in the CHAMBER OF SECRETS, she genuinely begins expanding the vocabulary of that universe.
